Winner of the 2023 National Civic Architectural Excellence Award, the Monolith Urban Pavilion is a public gathering hub and cultural venue in the center of the Civic Plaza. Designed as a dynamic sculptural gateway, the pavilion features sweeping cantilevered dark titanium beams accented with brushed champagne gold soffits that reflect natural sunlight onto the public amphitheater below.
The structure required a massive 22-meter column-free public gathering space under a curved canopy that could withstand extreme wind loads without visible diagonal bracing.
